At Baker Rock Resources, we consider the environmental impact in everything we do as a fundamental part of running our business. We work very hard to balance the need for new resources, and reuse, re-purpose and recycle everything possible. This cultural belief drives us to innovate new products and practices that minimize our eco-footprint.
These practices have led The Department of Environmental Quality and the Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon to repeatedly recognize Baker Rock Resources for our environmental responsibility and stewardship commitment.
Baker Rock Resources was the first producer in the Portland metro area to complete plant modifications allowing the manufacture of warm mix asphalt. Warm mix asphalt requires less fuel for heating during the manufacturing process, can be hauled longer distances, and produces significantly lower emissions during the production and installation process. Our Asphalt plants utilize clean burning Natural Gas for heating and have the latest technology in emission and environmental controls.
We use recycled materials in our products to the fullest extent such materials are available and permitted.
Our patented Special Treated Base is comprised of material that would normally be common fill, but instead is transformed into a high-performance aggregate base.
Concrete waste from various project sites is reclaimed, sorted and crushed to create recycled aggregate base products.
Reclaimed Asphalt is 100% recyclable. When we remove asphalt from a job site, it is reclaimed, crushed, sized and sorted for re-use in the production of new hot mix asphalt.
